Dear Seweryn,

Thank you for your kind words and your mother's kind words.

I must say that I am very impressed by the thoroughness and depth of your interest in this serious subject. I am curious to know how old you are and what do you study.

Hinduism is obviously a polytheistic religion. It allows peaple a lot of freedom to choose which God or Goddess they want to worship. And a person can follow one or more. For examplt my grandparents and parents had at least a dozen idols or pictures of different Gods and Goddesses on their altar.

But the Hindu philosphy also has a concept of divinity which is without a human form. At some point in our spiritual evolution we can go beyond the need to have a GOD in human form. To allow for that there is this concept of the Spirit beyond all forma and names. It is something that one feels when in deep meditation.

If you want to learn more about the Hindu philosophy then there is no better source (in my view) that to refer to the lectures by Vivekananda. There is an 8 volume set of his lectures which you can buy from the Vivekananda society whose web link you sent me.

Here is link to a web site where you can find short descriptions of many gods and goddeses and other concepts related to Hindu mythology.

I am not an expert in Hindu religion. I consider myself more of a spiritual person who respects and learns from all religions and conceptions of God rather than a person who belongs to just one religion.

Take care.

Best Wishes...

Pankaj
