Summary
    Modern engineering management needs to use modern computer systems. The paper discusses possibility to use expert systems in engineering management's problems-solving.
    In the paper are described tools for building expert systems such as shells and special programming languages. The purpose of this description is showing two methods of building expert systems with particular consideration of engineering management's needs.
    The paper include also description of most popular techniques of knowledge representation.
